Ms. Marufa Bhuiyan is a research scientist and GISN Member at NASA GLOBE Program. She is the Founder and President of Everest Innovation Lab – a regional lab funded by East-West Center, Hawaii, USA. She also works as a Crew Astronomer for Mars Academy USA [MAU] and is a visiting Research Scientist for Tribhuvan University in Nepal. 

This year she completed an Analog Astronaut Training Program – Mars Medics Mission jointly organized by Mars Academy USA [MAU] and Mars Desert Research Station [MDRS].  During that time, she also served as a GreenHab Officer,  Crew Astronomer and Resident Philosopher. Marufa has more than 13 years of experience in stakeholder consultations, literature reviews and technical research activities. Mostly, she worked as a Research Scholar at the University of Hawaii – Hawaii Natural Energy Institute [HNEI] from 2013 to 2017. Marufa is specialized in health science, renewable energy technologies,  astronomy, governance and leadership roles. 

Marufa has received numerous awards such as NASA GLOBE Judge Awards [2020,2019], Crew Scientist Candidate for LunAres Mission [2020] in Poland, Space Station Ambassador [2017-], Asia Pacific Leadership Program Fellow [2013], Gold medal from Sonali Bank Associations [2003], SENCER Hawaii Fellow [2017] by National Science Foundation [NSF] and University of Hawaii. She enjoys playing music, writing, sketching, innovation, mathematics and philosophy etc.
